DON'S BIO

Don working on the Windsor Island Project
Before I started college I worked as truck driver and before that a tow truck driver.  I primarily drove long haul, but I've also tried a few local jobs as a dump truck driver, concrete "barrel" truck driver, and a heavy wrecker tow truck driver. Hammerhead was the CB handle that I acquired.  And as a tow truck driver I've driven all the different types of tow trucks except for a "cradle snatcher".  I've driven  heavy wrecker tow trucks (the tow trucks that tow 18-wheelers, or as truckers call them "big truck"), medium duty (for trucks between 9000 and 24000#), light duty (for cars and pickup trucks), flatbeds, eagle claws (a fast hook system that can be operated from inside the truck for private property impounds and repos) and sling trucks (the old style tow trucks).  As a truck driver I became interested in talkin' on the CB which lead to a ham radio license, my call sign is KD7DSZ.  My other interests are hunting and fishing,  which lead me to college.  I wanted to do something I really liked, and since fishing is my obsession I decided to do something with fish.  So now I am working towards a degree in Fisheries Biology, or Marine Biology with a minor in Oceanography.  And since everyone in the field that i have worked with so far tells me that having a really good understanding of computers is important.  I will try to pick up a lot of computer programming classes along the way.
